EDM/pop artist Kesha announced earlier today, after several months of legal disputes with Dr. Luke and Sony, that she finally will be able to set out on full tour. Playing alongside The Creepies for what is being named The Fuck the World Tour, showing the world that she in not gone yet. The singer has only performed a handful of shows since her legal issues began, one of which was a performance at Zedd’s set at the most recent Coachella Music Festival, debuting “True Colors” to the audience. She also performed Bob Dylan cover at the Billboard Music Awards in May but has not been able to do much more apart from that, until now. Pitchfork is reporting that the singer is looking to make a comeback with this newest tour and hopes to re-jump start her career, transitioning her sound from electronic, hip-hop, pop music and more towards “dirty rock & roll and country”.
According to Rolling Stone, Kesha has been having a difficult time staying of the tour bus, and announcing that her tour dates with The Creepies will be something not to miss, stating “I thrive from making and performing music, and much like a flower with no sun, my soul slowly dies when I don’t get to create and perform,” she wrote. “So, for a short ride and in mostly intimate venues, I will be performing a new creepy creation. It’s been too long.”
In her Instagram post that she released where she announced her tour. she revealed even more details, stating that she will be playing “songs you’ve never heard me play before and I may never play again.” Making it clear that she intends on reinventing her style, shifting more towards a soul soothing rock and roll style.
Even though the lawsuit is still ongoing, it is great to see that Kesha has managed to slowly move passed it and focus on her performing career again, showing true signs of maturity and growth, and by the looks of it, it seems audiences will be experiencing a whole new brand of Kesha.
