The Avalanches Postpone European Tour Dates Due To Health Issues

In a post on Australian music group The Avalanches’ official Facebook page, they made the unfortunate announcement that several of their upcoming European tour dates– including Lowlands Festival in The Netherlands, Fort de Saint-Pére in France, and Sweden’s Way Out west festival– will be postponed. In their statement, they affirmed that band member Tony Di Blasi has been “advised against International travel,” and ultimately decided it would be best for them to reschedule. In the Facebook post, they also made sure to include a thank you to their devoted fans for the tremendous support they have shown, and assured the group would be posting new and rescheduled dates to be on the look out for.

The Avalanches are no strangers to dealing with hardships since following the release of their first album “Since I Left You” in 2000. In fact it took 16 years for them to release their highly anticipated second album ” Wildflower “, which dropped earlier this month. The unusually long break can be attributed to issues they faced concerning lawsuits, sample clearances, band members quitting, and prevalent health problems.

While Di Blasi’s health condition is a momentary road block, the group has continuously proven that they cannot be discouraged from creating up beat music for their fans to get hyped to. There is no doubt that The Avalanches will be back to festivals and life performances in no time upon Di Blasi’s recovery.

Luckily, audiences who are planning to attend The Splendour in the Grass Festival in Australia can breathe easy, because The Avalanches are still scheduled to headline the festival in their home country. They will be returning headliners, as the group also DJed at the Splendour in the Grass Festival in 2006.
