Today, on the opening day of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, supergroup Prophets of Rage joined in on the festivities with a performance as well as a rally. The group, which consists of Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, as well as Public Enemy’s Chuck D and DJ Lord and Cypress Hill’s B-Real, started with a set on stage. The set included performances of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name”, “Sleep Now in the Fire” and “Bulls on Parade”. The group also performed Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep ’til Brooklyn”. They also dropped their new song “Prophets of Rage” just in time for the convention.
This all took place during the End Poverty Now: March for Economic Justice rally. The crowd was made up of about 700 people.
The group will also be playing tomorrow night at the Agora.
