Supergroup Prophets of Rage have just released their new single appropriately titled “Prophets of Rage”. The track is a re-work of the same titled song by Public Enemy. The new version features new music and a new verse by Cypress Hill’s B-Real. The single was produced by Brendan O’Brien, who has previously worked with Rage Against the Machine.
The group is set to perform tomorrow at Agora, amidst the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. Earlier today, the group performed a free gig at the End Poverty Now: March for Economic Justice rally. They then marched to the RNC to, in the words of Tom Morello, “Let those motherfuckers at the RNC know we’ve had enough of their bullshit.” After the march, they played another show at the Cleveland Public Square.
They are also scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel on July 25. After the Kimmel appearance, Prophets will embark on the Make America Rage Again tour. The tour kicks off in August and will makes stops in New York City, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, and their hometown Los Angeles. The tour wraps up in San Diego just before election day. Portions of the proceeds from the tour will be donated to local homeless charities.
