The beloved Montreal indie rock band, Arcade Fire, have been pretty far removed from the live music scene for some time. Thankfully, this drought has come to an end, as Arcade Fire performed their first live show in two years.
As Pitchfork reports, Arcade Fire’s first live performance in two years was held at the Razzmatazz music festival in Barcelona. This exciting performance is also set to be the first in a list of summer festival dates.
Though the band had performed a few shows these past couple of years, they were never fully fleshed out set lists. They would perform a few songs here and there, but this performance had a full setlist.
Included in the setlist are some of their hit song such as “Ready To Start,” “Afterlife,” “No Cars Go” and “Wake Up.”
The video managed to catch most of the performance, except for “Normal People” and “Haiti.” Nonetheless, the video is a great one to watch, and it will definitely keep you entertained for a good hour.
Arcade Fire was formed in 2001 in Montreal, Quebec and includes a wide variety of members that have switched out over the years. Its current line up includes singer Win Butler, Régine Chassagne, William Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, and Jeremy Gara.
Since the band’s inception, Arcade Fire has skyrocketed in popularity and admiration. They have released a total of four albums, with their latest studio album being 2013’s Reflektor, which featured contributions from the late David Bowie.
However, the band has continued to work on other projects in the meantime, including making the soundtrack for the Spike Jonze directed film Her, and releasing the film The Reflektor Tapes.
