Lil Boosie and Plies are bringing the Kings of the Streets Tour to The James L Knight Center on Saturday, September 17th. Both rappers have been making great street music since they have been in the game and this concert should be a treat for fans of hip hop.
Lil Boosie, who now goes by Boosie Badazz for the most part, has been active since the late 90’s releasing his first album “Youngest of da Camp” in 2000. He was in jail from 2009-14 and since being released he has been releasing a stream of music. Recently he has said that his music shouldn’t be classified as hip hop, but reality rap. He says that reality rap has the capacity to make the listener cry and reflect. Take a listen to his recent song “Not My Nigga” below. Plies has been active for a shorter time than Boosie, but he has made hits in the time that he has been active. Take a listen to his song with Akon “Hypnotized” below.
The Kings of the Streets tour should be great for fans of southern hip hop. Boosie has been one of the hardest working rappers this year with the amount of quality releases he has put out. If you’re a fan of either Plies, Boosie or just good lyricism in general, than this concert should be for you.
