During his time as White Fence from 2010 through 2014, Tim Presley, created vast amounts of music and also spent time on several side projects. One of which he collaborated with Welsh singer-songwriter, Cate Le Bon, on a “solo” project called Drinks. Under Drinks, Presley and Le Bon released an album entitled, Hermits on Holiday.
He also has six albums under his belt as White Fence and Hair collaboration with Ty Segall, nevertheles, Presley has never released an album under his own name, despite having made most of the White Fence LPs, until now.
Teaming up once again, Presley and Le Bon are back to send waves of psychedelic tunes into our ears. His solo debut LP, The WiNK, produced by Le Bon herself, will be released September 16 via Drag City. Other efforts for the album include Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint and engineer Samur Khouja.

In an interview with Noisey, Presley said , speaking about Le Bon, “I believe us meeting was cosmic. I think we always new we would do something together. When we started hanging out more, it became more and more obvious we needed to connect on that level. Us starting a “band” was the perfect way to express this, and also to keep us both inspired. She is inspiring to me. That’s why this works. We admire and respect each other with no pretense. When you connect on that level with someone, being creative comes naturally. It’s a rare thing, and I know this. When the moon pulls you to someone, you have to say “Thank you, Moon.” You don’t ask why. ”
It only seems like such a natural fit that it was Le Bon who found Presley’s “deep pile of demos” and picked out the songs that made the 12 track album, including the lead single “Clue”.
Presley’s first track “Clue” is the nicest mix of funk and psychedelic rock. Percussion gives vibes of feeling like you’re in a “child-like fantasy”. And with touches of synth and mellow guitar riffs , this track is a cool blend of what you would expect from the San Francisco rocker.
