Die Antwoord Announces Fall 2016 Tour Dates

The South African rap-rave group, Die Antwoord, has just announced the dates for their Fall 2016 tour.

The tour will kick off in San Francisco, California on September 21st and will continue across the country and even hitting up Toronto along the way. Their tour will come to an end in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 29th.

The tour will consist of just over 25 dates that will cover many major cities in America. Check out the full list of dates below.

The tour comes right behind the release of Die Antwoord’s new mixtape, Suck on This. It’s their first release since their 2013 album Donker Mag and is filled with 13 intense songs. The mixtape can be streamed on Soundcloud, but it is also available for free digital download here. In addition, the Suck on This mixtape is said to be a “precursor” for a forthcoming album.

Die Antwoord were formed in 2008 in the South African city of Cape Town. The group consists of members Ninja, Yolandi Visser and DJ Hi-Tek. Their music is an entirely unique sound that incorporates elements of rap, rave and alternative hip-hop.

The group defines themselves as also “zef,” a South-African counter-culture movement. Though the exact definition is a bit vague, Yolandi Visser has described it as “It’s associated with people who soup their cars up and rock gold and shit. Zef is, you’re poor but you’re fancy. You’re poor but you’re sexy, you’ve got style.”
