Today on Zayne Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio Program, DJ Shadow gave the audience a preview of his new song “The Sideshow”.
The new single begins with classic beat that you would hear at the beginning of a 90’s rap song. As the song progresses, intense scratching takes over the songs. However, the scratching does not compromise the quality of the song. The lyrics are clearly heard throughout the song, and you can tell it took some time to compose them.
This single will be featured on his upcoming, fifth album The Mountain Will Fall. This track features other well-known DJ Ernie Fresh, and this song has been referred to as a “Scratch Track.” The nickname for this song comes to no surprise because the new single includes 108-111 scratches per minute. That is a lot!
This past summer has been pretty busy for DJ Shadow. Just two weeks ago he released “Bergschrund”. Also, this artist had released new music video for “The Mountain Will Fall”. Both of these releases have received positive feedback, and it is quite clear that this new album will do the same.
