Usually, when you finish catching a set at a festival, there is sometimes the thought of “I wonder what the band members do backstage in the dressing rooms?”, well thanks to Dean Ween and Father John Misty, that answer just became clear, they jam out like crazy and provide fans with a glimpse of what a Ween and FJM collab would look like.
According to Paste, after newly reunited Ween had finished their set at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, in Tennessee, they went to their dressing room where Father John Misty himself was sitting and waiting. Instagram user @monihampton, a self described “Ween aficionado”, posted a video late Sunday evening after the set of Dean Ween slapping some bass, whole FJM sat there absolutely thrashing it on the drums.
In the video, you also see a couple of fans who managed to sneak into the backstage and into the dressing room, with a quick glimpse of Kurt Vile giving a dopey disapproval. The posted gave a little context, providing the caption Deaner & Father John Misty jam session post Ween show (those kids on the couch snuck into backstage and into the Ween dressing room, they were adorable) and yes that’s Kurt Vile in there too.”
If only they would have brought their collaboration on to the stage, fans would be able to admire the ability the two have to work together on music. We can only hope to see more “instajams” in the future.
