Los Angeles rock group, Deap Vally, returns with some exciting news. They have just announced their new album FEMEJISM, and premiered a new music video for their song “Smile More.”
The new album, FEMEJISM, will be out this fall on September 16 via Nevado Music. The album was produced by Yeah Yeah Yeah, Nick Zinner who has produced work for artists like Santigold and Bloc Party.
FEMEJISM will be the band’s second album to date, following their 2013 album Sistronix. As they stated in a press release, the new album will feature Deap Vally catapulting to new heights and “taking their guitar shredding, wild beats and scorched vocals to another level.”
One of their first singles to come off this record is their song “Smile More,” a loud and proud anthem that’s worthy of several replays.
The music video for “Smile More” has just been released and it emphasizes the band’s roots and explores it as well. The music video is set in Downtown Los Angeles and focuses, in particular, to one girl as she and her dog walk around the city. She encounters the various different scenes and cultures prevalent in DTLA, giving an inclusive glimpse into real life.
The members of Deap Vally, Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards, also make an appearance in the video, showcasing their wild skills. In all, the music video is just as uplifting as it is brash.
