English electronic/dubstep duo, Chase & Status, have just released a new music video for their song “NRG” featuring Novelist.
The video is a self-described high octane journey, with an abundance of flashing graphics to accompany the fast-paced song. Novelist is the sole person shown throughout the video, and the South London rapper jumps along to the bumping beat.
The video is indeed a “high octane” experience, with a bevy of saturated colors and moving sketches. The more intense the song gets, the more intense the video becomes as well. As the video slows down, the graphics match its tempo and vibe and the colors become slightly bit more muted, although it retains its wild nature.
The song itself is a power punch of energy and explosive beats. Novelist adds a wonderful touch to the song, imprinting a unique and wonderful South London accent to the single.
“NRG” is the duo’s first release since their 2o15 London Bars EP. Since then, the band have gone on to be nominated for “Best Group” by the BRIT Awards, and have received wide acclaim. They were formed in 2003 in London and have released three full studio albums since their formation.
