The Pet Shop Boys are coming to the Fillmore in Miami Beach on Wednesday, November 16th. The very long lived electronic pop duo is going on tour for the release of their most recent album this year, “Super”. They’ve been going strong for 30+ plus years now, this is no time to slow down.
The Pet Shop Boys consists of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe who formed the group in 1981. They both had an interest in dance music and started to make music in London before getting recognized by a producer from New York who they made their first record with. Their sound consists of synths, dance beats and vocals, which drive the disco aesthetic of their music. In addition they have always been popular for their image and stance on issues. Many of their songs, although subtly, reference their positions of gay rights of the times and the struggles of being gay. Some of their hits include “West End Girls” and “It’s a Sin”.
The Pet Shop Boys will be performing at the Fillmore, the premier venue on Miami Beach for the best music performances. The best artists always come to the Fillmore the space fills up fast so plan ahead to go to the show early to get a better view. The show on November 16th should be great for people wanting to hear a slice of the 80s along with the bands newly released music.
