There is no word yet on when Kanye West’s upcoming album, Cruel Winter, will be released, but you can now listen to the killer first single, “Round & Round.” The track premiered on Big Boy’s 92.3 radio show earlier today, and features Desiigner, Quavo, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Travi$ Scott, Yo Gotti and Big Sean.
The song is classic Kanye, with a healthy mix of all the other artists involved. Per usual, it is full of self-congratulatory lyrics and autotune, but isn’t that what Kanye is known for at this point? The track definitely builds anticipation for Cruel Winter, the long rumored project following 2012’s famous compilation album, Cruel Summer, from G.O.O.D Music. GOOD, or Getting Out Our Dreams, Music is a record label founded by West in 2004, and houses artists such as Big Sean. Pusha T, John Legend and more. The first compilation album, Cruel Summer, featured collaborations from many of these artists and produced four hit singles, “Mercy”, “Cold”, “New God Flow”, and “Clique.”
This news comes at a very busy time for West, who’s latest album, The Life of Pablo, was released earlier this year. He is set to embark on a tour in September and will play the Governor’s Ball in New York City, in addition to juggling his high-profile personal life. He also announced that he was already working on the follow- up to Life of Pablo, which will be titled Turbo Grafx 16 and likely be released later this year. The new album is rumored to feature collaborations with Tyler the Creator and Big Sean.
