Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Bitchin Bajas will hit the road together in June for their first U.S. tour together. The summer trek will kick off with two shows in Chicago’s Constellation Jazz Club and subsequently more across the East Coast and Midwest. Brooklyn Vegan reports that the two acts will play together and separately throughout the shows.
The tour will not be the first time Bonnie ‘Prince’ and Bitchin Bajas jam out together; they have been collaborating throughout 2016. Back in March, the two acts took us on a psychedelic journey when they released Epic Jammers And Fortunate Little Ditties, a trippy record they created together.
It’s been a busy 2016 for Bonnie Prince. Back in January, he released an album of his Peel sessions for BBC Radio 1. Titled Pond Scum, the collection of songs spanned over 8 years worth of the band’s anthology. The record included Billy’s cover of Prince’s “The Cross.” Later in the year, Billy produced an Epic Jammers with Bitchin Bajas and released the single “Your Hard Work Is About to Pay Off, Keep On Keeping On.” He contributed 3 tracks to Day of the Dead, the latest Grateful Dead tribute album, organized by The National and released in May. Billy also found time to contribute to Brainfog records’ Refugee compilation, a collaborative collection of tracks that reflect on the issues around the refugee crisis, specifically covering the struggles in Syria. When the musician was not recording, he spent the winter traveling through the midwest for a mini-tour.
