Symbiosis Gathering Festival Announces 2016 Lineup Featuring Bird Of Prey, Seth Troxler And Santigold

Symbiosis Festival will be returning to Woodward Reservoir, CA for a second year, and will feature an array of electronic acts, including Bird Of Prey, Seth Troxler, and Santigold.

FKA Twigs will be headlining the event. The avant-garde singer-songwriter released her latest single “Good To Love” earlier this year, as follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2015 EP, M3LL155X. The evocative set of songs propelled the artist to the top of many year-end lists.

Santigold will also be feautured at the event. The singer reutrns to the road after the release of 99¢, which features singles “Can’t Get Enough of Myself” and “Chasing Shadows”. She will spend her summer on the road, making stops at festivals including Float Fest and Mamby On the Beach.

The natural environment sets Symbiosis apart from other festivals. The Woodward grounds are on an estuary surrounded by meadows, woods, and plenty of birdlife. The area is also known for its nightsky, ideal for stargazing at night. The stages reflect the venue’s surrounding; standing areas are partially aquatic, with some stages that can be accessed by swimming.

Symbiosis will include activities and classes around permaculture and sustainable living. Courses will be offered daily, focused on distinct primal elements: fire, earth, air, and water. The topics will include overviews of permaculture principles, methods, and techniques; community building; and ancestral arts. Festival-goers can also look forward to more hands-on activities such as cartography and fire building.

It doesn’t end there. Additional offerings by the Symbiosis community include physical activities such as yoga and dance classes, hula hooping, and swimming. The right-brained can enjoy displays that include art boats, circus performances, live painters, large-scale installations, galleries, and hand-made clothing.
