The Strokes Announce New EP Future Present Past For June 2016 Release

The Strokes have released two new songs off of their upcoming EP, Future Present Past that is due out on June 3. During the first episode of his monthly Sirius XM radio show called Culture Void, frontman Julian Casablancas premeired one of the tracks called “Oblivious.” The other song that was released is titled “Drag Queen” and can both be heard on the the Cult Records website via Spotify. The two songs can also be can be streamed below.

This will be the New York outfit’s first release since 2013’s Comedown Machine and will feature three brand new songs. There will also be remix of “Oblivious” by drummer Fab Moretti. The third song on the EP will be titled “Threat of Joy” and has not been released. The whole thing was record in both Austin and New York by producer Gus Oberg and will be the first release on Casablanca’s own Cult Records, according to Rolling Stone. The group released a video to talk about various topics such as the superbowl halftime show, the internet, playing basketball with Obama and most importantly the new EP. Future Present Past is available for pre-order now on 10-inch vinyl, with limited edition color vinyl available via Cult and independent retailers. The Cult version will be in red, while the independent retailers will have the EP in blue. There will also be a digital pre-order available via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
