Revocation, the Boston based metal band, has announced the release of their new album, Great Is Our Sin, for July 22, 2016.
The album will be released via Metal Blade records, founded by owner Brian Slagel 32 years ago. The release date for the album is the day before Summer Slaughter, which “bills itself as “the most extreme tour of the summer.”‘ Revocation has already released five albums over the last 10 years, but that has not stopped them from continuing to push themselves to make an album that is better than the last.
“Great is Our Sin” is the bands most edgy release, and they certainly do not hide their attempts to test some limits. Dave Davidson, lead singer for Revocation, says “Communion,” the group’s first song from the album, “is the fastest song we’ve recorded to date.” The group had to find a way to top their 2014 album Deathless, and thanks to the easy way the songs for Great Is Our Sin came together, it looks like they have found a way to do just that.
The band reconnected with producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris, who helped with some of the group’s previous albums, helped Revocation attack fans hearing, while keeping a seamless feel to the music. The band is known for their musical expertise, and although they looked to reach new levels with this album, they never lost sight of the importance of the songwriting process.
