According to The Interns, Yasiin Bey, the artist formerly known as Mos Def, has dropped a new track titled “Dec. 99 – Tall Sleeves”. The track follows the “Dec. 99” theme seen on the recently released “Dec. 99 – N.A.W.” leaving many to wonder the significance of Dec. 99. Fans are not left with much to crack the enigma – all we have at the moment are a couple of tracks and the completed album artwork. Take a look at the image below and see what all the mystery is about.
Most likely the newly shared tracks will be a part of the full album Bey has promised. However, the album itself will likely be his last. With the help of Kanye West, Bey announced his retirement from music and film that will follow the album’s release.
Bey has been in the press for more than just his forthcoming retirement. The rapper was detained by South African officials earlier this year for allegedly using a fake passport to travel. Bey claimed that he never traveled with illegitimate documentation and was detained unreasonably. He further claimed that his family was being punished with deportation by the government.
