Grammy Award-nominee, PJ Harvey, has announced that she will be performing at Terminal 5 in New York City on August 16th.
The British alternative/indie rock artist announced earlier this month that she will be headed to the United States in support of her newest record, The Hope Six Demolition Project, that came out on April 14th. The record was the artist’s ninth and was recorded for public view in London at Somerset House. The album was recorded in collaboration with an art demonstration/exhibit called “Recording in Progress” that split the recordings of the album into multiple sessions that allowed spectators and fans to watch. Check out her song, The fMinistry of Social Affairs, that appeared on the record.
Harvey is scheduled to hit NYC this summer in what will be her first US performance in five years. But don’t be fooled into thinking this is a full length tour – the only other US performance will be in Los Angeles on August 18th. Her brief stay in the US comes as no surprise and she’s always on the move thanks to her extensive involvement in the arts. Not only is she a published poet and artist, but has also been awarded UK’s Mercury Music Prize for her records Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea and Let England Shake.
Tickets for PJ Harvey at Terminal 5 on August 16th are on sale now on Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are currently selling for $50 each and they’re going fast. This is a rare performance and it’s definitely one you’re not going to want to miss.
