New York based rock band, Brand New, have released a new single, “I Am A Nightmare.”
“I Am A Nightmare” is the first new material the band has released since 2015, when they released the single “Mene.”
The new single retains Brand New’s trademark alternative emo rock sound, though it is a bit more toned down than the band’s other work. The song brings forth a sound that is reminiscent of other alternative rock bands such as Interpol and Joyce Manor.
The song was produced by Mike Sapone, who has been a longtime collaborator for Brand New and has worked with other bands like Taking Back Sunday and Mayday Parade, and mixed by Vince Ratti who has worked with Mayday Parade and the Wonder Years.
“I Am A Nightmare” comes from their forthcoming album, and will be released on vinyl as a 12″ single that can be pre-ordered here, and will also be released digitally on all platforms.
The special 12″ vinyl will be released later this year, and includes a digital download of the single, and features cover artwork done by Morning Breath. In addition to being available for pre-order online, the vinyl will also be available to purchase on Brand New’s upcoming tour.
Take a listen to the single below.
Brand New was formed in Long Island, New York in 2000. The band is made up of members Jesse Lacey, Vincent Accardi, Garrett Tierney, and Brian Lane. The band is best known for their song “Jesus Christ.” The band has released four studio albums in total, and several other EPs and Demos.
In addition to releasing a new album later this year, the band is also set to tour around the country where they will be playing alongside alternative rock band, Modest Mouse.
