It’s a family affair. According to Brooklyn Vegan, Amanda Palmer and her father Jack will be hitting the road this summer in support of Amanda’s latest album, You Got Me Singing, a collection of cover songs.
The mini-tour will see the Palmer travel about the East Coast, starting in Washington DC, then heading north to Lexington, MA, and finishing with a trio of performances in New York. Tickets for the final 3 stops in Basilica, Hudson and Le Poisson Rouge will be available soon.
Palmer and her father have been working together on more than just the upcoming tour. Jack has contributed vocals to a number of songs on Amanda’s LP. The album will be released in July and pay tribute to artists such as Sinead O’Connor, Leonard Cohen, Kimya Dawson, among others. It is currently available for preorder and the first single, their take on Richard Thompson’s “1952 Vincent Black Lightning” has already been shared. Check out the music video of the song above.
Anyone unable to attend the Palmers’ tour can still catch Amanda live this summer – the artist will be playing with Brian Viglione at a pair of Dresden Dolls shows in August – the first performances from the duo in a year. Tickets are currently available through Ticketfly. See full itinerary below.
