Tegan and Sara have just released a music video for their new single “100x.”
The single comes off their forthcoming album Love You To Death, which is set to be released later this summer. So far the duo have released two other singles, “Boyfriend,” and “U-Turn,” both which have corresponding music videos.
Love You To Death seems to follow the sound of their last album, 2013’s Heartthrob. However, “100x” takes on a slower and more mellow mood.
The video flows entirely in slow-motion and features dramatic shots of cute little pups as their fur ripples in the wind and their stares pierce the screen. Tegan and Sara make an appearance as well, and follow the dramatic and cheeky actions of the dogs.
The video was directed by Jess Rona, a groomer from Los Angeles. Her instagram account, JessRonaGrooming, features short videos of her canine clients, similar to that of the music video. In an interview for Vice, Sara describes her love for Jess Rona’s music videos and how much of an honor it was to have her direct their music video.
Tegan and Sara are twin sisters and musical partners from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They have been active since 1995 and released their debut album, Under Feet Like Ours, in 1999. Since then, the duo have released a total of seven albums, with their eighth album, Love You To Death to be released later this year.
