The band will spend the summer will trek through Europe and North America to play a number of shows and make a string of festival appearances. A month later, Gojira will head to North America on Sept. 21 to begin the tour in Maryland and travel through North America. Gojira will wind the tour down in New York October 23. The band’s upcoming album was written and influenced by the death of Joe and Mario Duplantier’s mother, who passed away last year. Mario tells Rolling Stone.
When you read Joe’s lyrics, for me, I cry right away… They’re very deep and to the point. No bullsit. We recycle our sadness and depression in the music.
