Axl Rose is undoubtedly one of the biggest rock icons of our time, but clearly not everybody is a fan!
Since the Guns N’ Roses frontman replaced Brian Johnson as AC/DC singer for the latter’s “Rock or Bust” World Tour, it has generated a mixed reaction from the public. At least one AC/DC fan site shut down in protest, while many who already purchased tickets took to social media to express their disappointment. As a result, at least one ticketing service is now offering refunds on remaining tour dates. As reported by Spin, the fans who purchased tickets for the June 4 show via See Tickets received a message stating that refunds will be available from now until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 6.
While See Tickets is currently the only ticketing service offering refunds, it is unknown whether others will do the same. Regardless, there was a strong reaction to Rose taking the lead on vocals for AC/DC. Brian Johnson, who has been the vocalist for the group since 1980, was forced to leave the tour last month amid health issues. Doctors reportedly told him that he could suffer permanent hearing loss if he did not immediately cease touring, which led to the rest of the group deciding to move forward with a guest vocalist. It was announced that Rose would fill the spot during the Guns N’ Roses set at Coachella, and the group was joined by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young.
While the decision to replace Johnson with Rose has been controversial, it is likely that fans will now have the chance to get refunds on tickets. Rose will be taking the stage with the band from May 7 through June 12 before embarking the Guns ‘N Roses “Not In This Lifetime” stadium tour.
