After releasing the teaser track, “Little Red Hen” early last month, to considerable interest, MSTRKFT, has announced its summer tour dates. The electronic-duo from Toronto, consisting of Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P, are re-emerging on the circuit to promote their third album, currently untitled, due out this July. It’s been seven years since Fist of God, and a decade since, The Looks. The dance music sphere has patiently waited for this tour.
MSTRKRFT is a band that distinguishes itself by not paying close attention to the music scene, which seeks instead through this act of defiance, to focus on their style, and generating it. Expect this kind of no-BS vibe on the road alongside new cuts off their forthcoming album. Al-P told mxdwn in an interview last month that much like their new single, “Little Red Hen” (Last Gang Records), “being creative with very few elements”, was a theme to be expected on the entire album. Catch a hot minute of rowdiness from MSTRKRFT’s first show in years at SXSW, to whet your appetite for this tour.
Starting June 1st, the band is rounding North America to promote their third album. They will rock live shows in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and LA and DJ sets at Ritual Night Club in Ontario and Club Vinyl in Colorado. In the meantime, you can tap in with MSTRKRFT’s Essentials playlist on Spotify.
