The New York native got her start way back in 2004 when she was signed to J Records. Her debut, East Side Story, though wouldn’t be released to the masses until 2007. But it went on to receive a Grammy nom for “Best Contemporary R&B Album of the Year.” She’s opening for huge acts like Chaka Khan, John Legend, Nas, and Alicia Keys. In more recent years, she’s toured with Maroon 5, Emeli Sande, and Sara Bareilles. Her second studio release finally arrived in 2015, by her own label. Take a listen to The Switch and then head to Union Transfer this July to see Emily King showcase her distinctive vocals.

Support for Emily King’s show comes from New Orleans-born multi-talent, PJ Morton. In addition to his solo work, Morton is also one of the keyboardists in Maroon 5. In fact, his first solo recording featured vocals from the Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. PJ Morton released his first major label album in 2013. He has produced for artists like LL Cool J, India.Arie, and Jermaine Dupri. So needless to say, you don’t want to miss his opening set this July!
