Last fall, Grimes unfortunately had to cancel her highly anticipated show at Union Transfer at the last minute. So the exciting news that she has booked her return to Philly certainly has fans rejoicing. This time around she’ll be bringing the event to an even larger stage, performing at The Electric Factory. The event goes down on Saturday, June 3rd with support from HANA.
Grimes is out supporting her latest release, Art Angels, which dropped in the fall and was on many Best of 2015 lists. And to add to the funkiness, her upcoming show will be part of Wizard World Music’s Concert Series – which is, yes, part of Philly’s Comic Con. This year marks their first ever concert series to accompany the festival. And who better than Grimes to be the event’s first headliner.
Wizard World COO, Randy Malinoff says, “These live events are a key componet to the continued growth of oru brand. We’re excited to present the concert series debut with Grimes, and to bring our fans the latest and best headliners and emerging musical talent nationwide.”
Grimes is, of course, fresh off of her raved about performance at this year’s Coachella where she brought out special guests Janelle Monae and Aristophanes. In a tough slot playing against headliners Guns N’ Roses, Grimes managed to hold her own and bring one of the most stand out performances of the first weekend of the fest. Catch her this June when she brings her dynamic show to Philly.
