The Heavy @ World Cafe Live’s Free At Noon 4/15

Is there anything better than a free show? This Friday, April 15th, the only place you should be spending your lunch break is at World Cafe Live, everyone’s favorite midday concert. This week’s installment of Free At Noon brings British rock/soul band, The Heavy to the Philly stage. As always, this is an RSVP only show, so get on that now.

The band is currently out in support of their latest release, Hurt & The Merciless, which dropped at the start of this month, on April 1st. The band, perhaps most famous for their 2009 hit, “How You Like Me Now?”, have been performing together since 2007. To date, they have released 4 albums, including their most recent.

Their music has drawn comparisons to the Godfather of Soul himself, Mr. James Brown. And while some may still be unfamiliar with their name, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t heard one of their tracks, which have been featured countless times on TV, video games, and film. You may have heard them on Entourage, Communityor White Collar. Or perhaps you heard them featured in the films Horrible Bosses, This Means War, or Kingsman: The Secret Service. They’ve also lended their vocals to various commercials, for the likes of H&M and Miller Lite. See what all the fuss is about this Friday, at noon, when The Heavy take over the Free at Noon stage.
