Currently being shown in London, Wonder.land is a brand-new musical based off a modernized theatrical adaptation of Alice In Wonderland. Frontman of both Blur and Gorillaz, Damon Albarn has created the score for the musical and has announced that he will be releasing the digital download on Friday, April 15th with a CD release on April 22nd. A vinyl edition will then be available on April 29th. So far, he has released clips of two songs, “In Clover” and “Fabulous.” Find the clips below.
Albarn has been promoting the musical and his score for it for a long time. Last summer, he released the trailer for the musical. The musical debuted at the Manchester International Festival that month. Albarn has been busy these past few years – he released a solo album called Everyday Robots back in 2014 and then a new album with Blur in 2015 called The Magic Whip.
Along with keeping busy with Gorillaz and Blur, Albarn has also announced that he is working on a new album with supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen. The band consists of the Clash’s Paul Simonon, the Verve’s Simon Tong and Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen. Back in December, Albarn said he is currently working on an album with the supergroup and also a new album with Gorillaz.
Damon Albarn is an English musician who keeps busy doing various things in the music industry, including but not limited to composing music, singing, producing records, and playing multiple instruments. Albarn is talented in playing piano, keyboard, guitar, bass, synthesizer, melodica, and drums, as well as being a talented vocalist. He has participated in several groups over the years he’s been active in the music industry, when his career started in 1988.
