UK singer/songwriter, Birdy is bringing her Beautiful Lies Tour to Philly this summer. She’ll roll through The TLA for a performance on June 10th. Tickets for this one are already on sale, so grab those while you still can!
The Beautiful Lies Tour is named after Birdy’s third studio album of the same name. The album was released at the end of March via Atlantic Records and features the previously released singles “Keeping Your Head Up” and “Wild Horses.” With so many hit songs under her belt already, it’s easy to forget that Birdy is only 19 years old. But she’s an old pro at this point, having won the Open Mic UK competition at the tender age of 12.
Her debut single was a cover, and a phenomenal one at that. That was of course her take on Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love,” which became a breakthrough for the talented English singer. She went on to release her debut self-titled album in November of 2011. It was a big success overseas. Then in 2013, she released her second album, Fire Within. She has had several of her songs appear in films and television, including appearances on The Vampire Diaries, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Hunger Games. In 2012, she collaborated with Mumford & Sons for the track “Learn Me Right” which was featured in the film Brave, and which earned her her first Grammy Award nomination.
