Not only can you enjoy music, but you can enjoy the sounds as you float in a tube on a river. The Float Fest in San Marco, Texas will host live music with lazy summer tendencies. While you enjoy the music, nearby to the event the festival will offer tubing and camping options. The third annual Float Fest starts July 16 and ends July 17. The festival will be located at the 220-acre Cool River Ranch, which backs up to the San Marcos River.
The Float Fest has announced the lineup of musicians so far to play for the event. This includes the headlining musicians such as Chromeo, Rick Ross, Bleachers, Santigold, Metric, Yeasayer, Kongos, Big Gigantic, Future Islands, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Slim Thug, Blue Healer, along with Houston acts such as Fat Tony and the Wild Moccasins. Other musicians include Rooney, Nina Diaz, Auto Body, Night Drive, Emily Bell & The Talkbacks, Holiday Mountain, Riders Against The Storm, Blue The Misfit, Pop Pistol, Buhu, and Lowin.
Tickets for the weekend start at $99, this includes camping and tubing. For those interested in those options, you can move into the camping site and tubing areas on July 15, the Friday night before the event. VIP entrance starts at $299. For the VIP tickets, event goers can enjoy furnished lounges and viewing areas, access to food trucks and a private bar.
The third annual Float Fest will start daily at 2 p.m. and runs into the evening, just after the sun sets. Those interested in doing some summer tubing are recommended to arrive early to the San Marcos River access because of the crowds later in the day.
