Listen up, Metalheads. Old school thrash metal band, Demolition Hammer, will be performing back to back nights on June 17th and 18th at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn.
You can let that sink in for a few seconds if you’d like.
If you thought that all hope was lost to see Demolition Hammer live in your lifetime, you thought wrong. After 22-years, New York City’s legendary metal band announced that they are getting back together last month. Shortly after, the band released the date of their reunion show at Saint Vitus on June 17th. The show sold out almost instantly. The band added a second date, June 18th, shortly after due to the overwhelming demand for tickets. The band has also announced that they will be performing at this year’s Maryland Deathfest, the biggest underground metal fest in the US, last week.
Formed in Bronx, New York in 1986, Demolition Hammer began writing some of the most brutal thrash metal to ever fall on ears. The band fell apart in 1994 but their legacy has lived on for over two decades. Their 1990 album, Tortured Existence and their 1992 album, Epidemic of Violence, are viewed as pivotal metal albums in the death and thrash scenes and has earned themselves the reputation as one of the most influential metal bands of all time. Check out their track, Skull Fracturing Nightmare, which appeared on Epidemic of Violence.
Now is your chance to catch Demolition Hammer live for the first time in over 20-years. The June 17th show is sold out but there are still tickets available for their June 18th performance. It would be wise to pick up your tickets now before they’re gone.
