Greg Allman has teamed up with Livenation to form the second annual set of Laid Back Festival. The festival has promoted itself as a celebration of music and food. This year, the celebration has expanded itself to include 5 shows across the US, including stops in Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; Wantagh, NY; and the famous Red Rocks theatre outside of Denver, CO. Headlining acts include Gregg Allman himself, ZZ Top, Shovels & Rope, Peter Frampton, and Jason Isbell.

The inaugural show, named after Allman’s 1973 solo debut, was held last summer at Long Island’s Jones Beach theatre and included performances from Allman, The Doobie Brothers, Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, among others. The single show was organized in partnership by Allman, his longtime manager Michael Lehman, and Live Nation.

This year, the celebration has expanded itself to include 5 shows across the US, including stops in Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; Wantagh, NY; and the famous Red Rocks theatre outside of Denver, CO. Allman will continue including an eclectic mix of artists as headlining acts include Allman, ZZ Top, Shovels & Rope, Peter Frampton, and Jason Isbell. Each stop will host two stages – the “Laid Back” stage for big names and “Low Country” stage for rising stars, local artists, and more intimate performances.  The shows will celebrate America’s top food and drink by including 20 regional restaurants, food trucks, breweries, wineries, and other food & drink entrepreneurs at each show.

Tickets are now on sale, and VIP package offers are available. Check out the Laid Back Festival website for details and information.

The growing festival will fill Allman’s already jam-packed summer schedule. The classic rock singer will perform with Anders Osborne twice in May, shows in July with Peter Frampton, September co-headlines with ZZ Top, and with countless others almost non-stop from the beginning of April until October.
