The legendary Swedish metal band, Dark Tranquility, has announced that they will be coming to New York City to perform at Gramercy Theatre on November 4th.
Dark Tranquility confirmed their North American tour this fall last week in support of a new album that is currently in the works. The band’s first US show for the tour is in New York City – So expect an energetic performance to kick off the tour before they begin to travel. Accompanying the band on tour will be doom metal band, Swallow The Sun. This Finnish six piece is coming off the release of their newest record, Songs From The North I, II & III, that came out in November last year. Check out their track, Rooms and Shadows.
Dark Tranquility is viewed as one of the most influential, longest standing bands to come out of the Scandinavian metal scene. Their 1995 record, The Gallery, is paired with At The Gate’s Slaughter of the Soul and In Flame’s The Jester Race as the definitive Swedish Melodic Death Metal sound. With ten full-length records under their belt, the band continues to release some of the best underground metal coming out of Northern Europe. Check out their track, Terminus (Where Death Is Most Alive), that appeared on their critically acclaimed 2007 record, Fiction.
If you plan to catch Dark Tranquility this November 4th at Gramercy Theatre, tickets go on sale April 1st so mark your calendars. You can pick up your tickets through Gramercy Theatre’s website.
