The video is black and white, like it is supposed to be an old time movie clip. But the music is interesting to hear. The sound throughout the video involves entrancing strings, subdued percussion, and lightly strummed guitars. The real catch is the feathery soft vocals of Nadler herself. It almost sounds like the Eurythmics song “Here Comes The Rain Again.” The lightest touch of Lennox’s vocals in that song reflect the heavy downpour of rain and a bittersweet memory. In fact it is something the Nadler video completely copies to a realistic form.
Given the notion that Nadler is a goth-pop singer, it would be clear to write a song about why the colors of gray, black and white and all its monochrome neighbors are enticing to the singer. Whatever the fashion reason, the singer herself is in fact the most enticing of all with her soft touch to the video.
