Lollapalooza Announces 2016 Lineup Featuring Radiohead, Lana Del Rey And LCD Soundsystem

Celebrating its 25th year, and returning to Grant Park in Chicago, is Lollapalooza Music Festival who just announced their official lineup via their twitter. This year looks like they are pulling out all the stops for their quarter century festivities, the festival has just released the bill and by the looks of the lineup, it would seem that every band, whether big name or small, will be attending the 2016 Lollapalooza stages. From big band features like Radiohead, the Chili Peppers, Ellie Goulding,  and Disclosure, plus Jane’s Addiction led by festival co-founder Perry Farrell, to lesser known local artists that will get a chance to perform in front of one of the largest festival crowds. Taking place between July 28th through the 31st, and expecting an attendance of over 100 thousand attendees, it appears the annual music festival will once again take Chicago by storm and rock the city streets in this all-in-one music festival.

The festival was founded and created in 1991 as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell, it took off immediately and becoming one of the top rated festival of the summer, it ran annually for six years until 1997. The festival had seemed to be in a long hibernation because in 2003 it was revived, and in 2004 the organizers of the festival chose to take the festival on a North American tour, scheduling two days per city. However, due to poor ticket sales the tour had to be cancelled and never happened, but the next summer, Farrel was able to partner with Capital Sports Entertainment (currently C3 Presents) and the festival was reborn in its current destination of Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois. In 2010 the first international Lollapalooza took place in Santiago, Chile, and since then has seen many other countries through its travels.

Just like every year, Lollapalooza has truly packed the bill with incredible performers from all over the musical spectrum. Whether it would be big name alternative rock bands like Radiohead, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and LCD Soundsystem, or popular electronic performers like Big Gigantic, Griz, and local legends Flosstradamus, plus bringing in funk elements with Lettuce and others. Without missing a musical demographic, Lolla has once again provided a little something for everyone, making sure that nobody is left out and everyone can get the show they want. According to the Chicago Tribune, the days have officially been broken down into the daily schedules, so start planning your days now.

Single & 4-Day Passes are now available.
