Electronic artist Aaron Jerome, known by the stage name SBTRKT (pronounced “subtract”), has released a new song called “Good Morning”, which features R&B/pop artist The-Dream. The two artists have been working together a lot recently, so it’s no surprise they’ve finally released a collaborative song. The single has a moody, nostalgic vibe to it, in line with Jerome’s usual work. Though Jerome has released a lot of new material this past year through SoundCloud and BBC Radio 1 shows, “Good Morning” is his first official track since his last release, his second studio album Wonder Where We Land, back in October of 2014.
The last song Jerome released was called “Flicker”, put on SoundCloud back in December. It was originally debuted on a BBC Radio 1 show (the British radio station that showcases electronic music artists). The track is less than two minutes long but still has the classic SBTRKT feel with a brooding vibe to it. SBTRKT’s first studio album, his self-titled debut, was released back in 2011. With Wonder Where We Land coming out three years later along with many EPs, SBTRKT is due for a new album. “Good Morning” is just a taste of what’s to come in SBTRKT’s new album.
Terius Nash, known by his stage name The-Dream, has been around since 2011 participating in various projects in the music industry. Not only is he an R&B/pop artist, he also is a songwriter and record producer. He wrote several famous singles for well-known stars, such as “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” for Beyonce, “Baby” for Justin Bieber”, and “Me Against the Music” for Britney Spears. On top of that, he’s also released five studio albums of his own. This past January, The-Dream released a new album, Genesis, on Tidal as well as an EP of Sam Cook covers (IAMSAM). Along with all of this, he also released a a short forty-two minute film to accompany it.
