Queens rapper Meyhem Lauren has released a new song, “Garlic and Oil” that features American rapper Action Bronson and music production from DJ Shadow and A-Villa. The single comes from Lauren’s upcoming album Piatto D’Oro, which is planned to be released later this year through record label Fool’s Gold. Lauren is more than just a rapper – he also has his own series coming soon called “Got the Fever TV” through Juxtapoz Magazine. He’ll be interviewing grafitti artists. He’s been featured frequently on Bronson’s Viceland show “Fuck That’s Delicious.” Lauren’s upcoming album Piatto D’Oro will be a response to his previous album Silk Pyramids, released back in 2014.
Arian Asllani, known by his stage name Action Bronson, is an American rapper who has released several mixtapes in the span of his career, which started in 2008. His major label debut EP Saaab Stories was released in 2013. His major label debut album was called Mr. Wonderful, and it was released in 2013. He also accompanied Kendrick Lamar and Eminem on tour in the same year. Asllani is a former chef as well.
DJ Shadow, American record producer and obviously DJ, has played a huge role in developing instrumental hip hop, particularly with his highly acclaimed debut album Endtroducing… released in 1996. Since then, he’s had four other albums released. His latest one was called The Less You Know, the Better. It was released in 2011 and was his first original material since his album The Outsider released back in 2006.
