It’s been all over the news today that there has been yet another terrorist attack, this time in Brussels. At least 34 people were killed in the capital of Belgium, with over 170 people injured. American metal band Baroness, who were scheduled to play a show that very night in Brussels, posted to Instagram confirming that they were safe and not in Brussels. They stated that everyone they knew was okay and that they would try to find a place somewhere else to play a show.
We are not in BRUSSELS. we don’t know what’s going on, or where we are going to go yet, but we’ll try to keep you up to date, and we’re going to look into playing a show somewhere. Everyone we know is ok at the moment, and we hope you all are as well. There were a couple bomb attacks in Belgium today, and we’re responding as best we can with the info we have. Stay tuned and everyone please be safe.
From Savannah, Georgia, Baroness has been playing together since 2003, experiencing with various styles of metal in their music. So far, they have four studio albums out right now, along with a couple EPs and LPs. Their most recent release was Purple, which they put out this past December. This album was their first release since 2012, when the band got into a serious bus crash near Bath, England. As a result, they had to cancel the rest of their European tour. Though they all survived with minor injuries, many of the members suffered from broken bones and needed time to recovery. Purple was the band’s return to the spotlight. Check out a good review of it here.
In addition to playing shows in Europe on a five-week trek, Baroness has also announced tour dates for this spring. They will be playing in various venues throughout North America, and this will be their first national tour since releasing Purple, which quickly become a critically-acclaimed album. Starting near the end of April in Boston, they will play throughout North America and finish Los Angeles on June 3rd. Hopefully there will be no more bus crashes!
