Spiritual Beggars Release New Video For “Dark Light Child”

The Swedish hard rock band Spiritual Beggars have just released a new music video for their song “Dark Light Child.” The song comes off their new album, Sunrise to Sundown, set to be released later this month.

As Blabbermouth.net reports, the animated video was made by the Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu of Twilight13Media. Chioreanu has done artwork for various other bands such as Grave and Arcturus. In addition, Chioreanu created the album artwork for Spiritual Beggars’ upcoming album Sunrise to Sundown.

The video shares a similar style to the album artwork with its patterns and colors. Prominent motifs of suns and moons also make an appearance in the video. The music video shows the journey of a dark, celestial being traveling through dusty towns and carnivals. As the dark figure makes its way around, it eventually finds its place in the carnival, but not without causing a few frights first. The artwork is beautifully done, and pairs perfectly with the 70s hard rock inspired sound. It is entrancing, slightly psychedelic and haunting.

Spiritual Beggars formed in 1994 in the Swedish city of Halmstad. The band includes former Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott and bassist Sharlee D’Angelo. In addition, the other members Apollo Papathanasio, Per Wiberg, and Ludwig Witt. The band have released nine albums this far, with their latest release being Sunrise to Sundown.

Take a look at the video below, and be sure to pick up a copy of Spiritual Beggars’ new album out March 25.
