Major Lazer has just released a new song called “Number One”, as of yesterday March 18th. the song was produced by DJ Grandtheft and is available now for a free download. The band is made up of members Diplo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire.
“Number One” is the band’s most recent work since 2015’s album release of Peace Is the Mission which featured popular artists such as Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding, Pusha T and Travi$ Scott. Some songs off the album that they made into music videos include “Be Together”, “Too Original,” and “Powerul,”
In other news, the Major Lazer has been one of the first bands from the US to play a concert in Cuba since the restoration of diplomatic ties between both countries. The peace agreement happend back in July and the band was able to play just earlier this month. It was a free show that they played at Tribuna José Martí, in front of the US Embassy for thousands on Sunday March 6th. The show was sponsored by Musicabana Foundation and the government of Cuba said NME.
Over all Major Lazer has been very busy performing in the last year and recently announced that they will be headlining at this years Parklife Festival located in Manchester, UK as well as co-headlining with the Cure for this years Bestival on the Isle of Wright.
