Thom Yorke Presents Warning For Potential Secondary Market Ticket Buyers

Radiohead announced earlier this week that they would embark on a world tour this Summer, in addition to a series of previously announced festival dates. Fans and critics alike expressed excitement and all was well, until now.

The headlining shows all sold out within a matter of minutes, and tickets began appearing for sale on secondary sites for thousands of dollars. This has led singer Thom Yorke to express his frustration and warn fans of the dangers of purchasing tickets off secondary markets.

Radiohead wrote series of tweets addressing the situation. The band encouraged fans to check the original rules of each venue if they planned on buying resale tickets, as not to risk being denied entry. Lead singer Thom Yorke also posted a tweet from his personal account, with many speculating that the post was related to the ticket situation. Check out the posts below

In other news, Yorke recently offered one lucky (and wealthy) fan the chance to own a piece of history. In order to raise money for Oxfam, the anti-poverty charity, he is auctioning off handwritten lyrics to Radiohead’s hit song “Airbag.” The lyrics are written on the inside cover of Yorke’s personal copy of William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Experience, and the book is heavily annotated. The current asking price is nearing $2,500, so fans better get moving if they want this deal!

If you’re intent on seeing Radiohead this Summer, be sure to heed the band’s warnings and check the venue rules, bring valid ID and be wary of potential scammers. Check out the tour dates below
