Due to inclement conditions in the Austin, TX area, several showcases and events on the evening of March 18 have been forced to cancel or adjust their schedule. The most notable of these events are the Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake and the Converse Fader Fort. The outdoor performance at Lady Bird Lake was set to include some of the largest names at SXSW this year, including Coheed and Cambria, Wolfmother and more. 2Chainz was scheduled to headline at Fader Fort, which was evacuated.
At 7:43, the Converse Fader Fort announced it would not reopen via Twitter:
McGarrah Jessee Rooftop was not cancelled but set times were delayed. Aubrie Sellers scheduled to appear at 9:45 PM and headliner Flo Rider at 11 PM. Another star-studded showcase was effected by the rain and lightening, but luckily it was not outright cancelled. The showcase at Stubb’s was given new set times: Everything Everything at 10:10 PM, Crystal Castles at 11 PM, Charli XCX + SOPHIE at 11:50 PM, and headliner Santigold at 12:40 AM. The Collide at Rainey shows were delayed, but Lucy Dacus, Sun Kil Moon, Jamestown Revival and The Head and the Heart are all scheduled to take the stage. The Cedar Street Courtyard will begin at 10 PM. At FLOODFest, Boulevards’ set was cancelled:
The Republic Records hosted showcase at Scoot Inn has been canceled. DNCE, Marian Hill, Jay Watts, Powers were scheduled to perform.
Not every showcase was delayed by the thunderstorms: The Belmont, The Main, and Maggie Mae’s Rooftop are reportedly running on time.
