Constant new developments and updates are coming from the Kanye West camp, he apparently can not just let his album be and see what happens. According to Pitchfork, Kanye West has decided to once again update his newest album The Life of Pablo with more changes and slightly different lyrics. West has caused Jay-Z’s music streaming system Tidal to extend free trials for 30 more days to his new album as he continues tweaking on his so called “living and breathing changing creative expression”.
The first change that was made was last week, when Kanye chose to update the track “Famous”, which features Rihanna, with a few slightly different lyrics. The lyric “she be Puerto Rican day parade wavin'” has been changed to “she in school to be a real estate agent”, a few overall tweaks were also made to this track. Kanye claimed that after those changes he also intended to “fix “Wolves”, feeling that it also had not been perfected.
Late last night at 9:55 PM, Kanye had updated the song’s Frank Ocean outro, moving it to a new song on the LP called “Frank’s Track” and returning singers Sia & Vic back onto the track. The original version released had a run time of 3 minutes and 52 seconds, but now after the update is just over 5 minutes. The new changes that Kanye needed to make for the tracks has caused Tidal to extend its users’ free trial, offering another complimentary 3o day sot that listeners can still catch the new versions of the song without having to pay, which in term has caused the company to give up on possible subscribers profits.
It seems that the new album was released a little too quickly for Kanye West to realize his work is not complete, or is he trying to show us that his work is never complete and can always be perfected, in his own terms. There can be some expectation that West is not even close to finished on tweaking his new album and letting it change as it goes.
