With the taste of warm weather this past week, it’s time to start thinking about summer in Philly. And that means marking your calendars off now for the best (FREE!) events of the summer. Radio 104.5 has announced the first lineup of their Summer Block Party series. The events this year will again go down on Sundays, each month from May until September, at Festival Pier.
And if the first lineup release is an indication of what’s to come, we can expect a killer set of acts to hit the Festival Pier stage this summer. As always, the event is free, but you’ll have to grab your tickets during one of the station’s downloads, the first of which is coming Friday, 3/18 at noon. These are always hugely popular events, and the tickets go quickly, so be sure you’re glued to your screen at 12pm sharp to insure you get yours.
For their May lineup, Radio 104.5 have curated a great show featuring local act, Modern Colour. They’ll kick off the festivities, followed by Run River North, Kaleo (who recently played at sold out show at The Foundry), Nothing But Thieves, and radio station favorites X Ambassadors. If you were at the last Radio 104.5 event, Winter Jam, you may have caught X Ambassadors when they took the stage for a surprise performance. They were in town of course opening for Muse that night at Wells Fargo, but they’re addition at Winter Jam was a welcome treat.
