These days it seems that Sweden has the monopoly on rising pop talent. Names like Tove Lo, Icona Pop, Lykke Li, and Seinabo Sey all hail from the Scandinavian country. And they’ve all been dominating the charts and the airwaves. Another name that has surely earned its rank among the others is Elliphant, aka Ellinor Olovsdotter.
Her debut track, “Tekkno Scene,” which was released in 2012, quickly garnered comparisons to the likes of Diplo and M.I.A. She released her debut album the following year, and partnered with Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Records. By 2014, she had earned Diplo’s attention and released her second EP via Mad Decent (and Kemosabe).
And now the “Music is Life” singer is slated to finally release her second studio album (and major-label debut), Living Life Golden this month. The album features production from Dr. Luke and Skrillex and features MØ, Major Lazer, Twin Shadow, and Azealia Banks.
She’ll be taking the stage here in Philly with a show at Coda on May 2nd, which guarantees to be a fun night of infectious pop tunes and non-stop dancing. Grab your tickets for this one now.
