South by South West, also known as SXSW, has just announced the ninth round of performers for the upcoming Music and Media Conference. The annual gathering has added a variety of exciting new artists such as Wynonna And The Big Noise, French Montana, Coheed And Cambria, HEALTH and many more. The festival is set to take place March 15-20, 2016 in Austin, Texas. With just under two weeks to go, this new batch of artists builds even more excitement and anticipation for the event.
Additionally, this week provided multiple session and showcase announcements. The biggest of these announcements is arguably the addition of 2016 SXSW Music Keynote Speaker and First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. She will be discussing the Let Girls Learn initiative, which aims to “break barriers for the 62 million girls around the world who are not in school.” Meanwhile, her husband President Barack Obama President will make an appearance at SXSW Interactive on Friday, March 11. There will also be showcases presented by NPR, JanSport and Noisey, Tumblr, CMA Songwriters Series, IMIChile, Roadrunner Records, BBC Music, and Vans.
