Lil Uzi Vert @ TLA 3/30

One of Philly’s rising hip-hop talents is headed home for a headlining gig at South Street’s TLA. You can catch his show at the end of this month, on Wednesday, March 30th.

Sinec he dropped his Luv is Rage mixtape last year, it has been nearly impossible to escape his presence. His name has been everywhere lately, with write-ups in  Complex, XXL, Brooklyn Vegan, and even the New York Times. So it’s no doubt that this is a name you need to know in 2016. And especially so for Philadelphians, as the MC hails from right here in North Philly.

His list of influences may seem surprising, Kanye West, Pharrell, and most notably Marilyn Manson. And as for the current crop of rising talent? Lil Uzi Vert draws inspiration from guys like A$AP Rocky and Young Thug, who he’s also collaborated with. But it’s the delivery at which he spits his rhymes that has set him apart from the pack. In fact, that’s where he gets his name, “uzi.”

Head to the TLA this month for a special presentation from Veteran Freshman & DISTOREDD featuring Lil Uzi Vert and Friends.
