Original Member Izzy Stradlin Will Not Be Involved In Guns N’ Roses Reunion

According to NME Magazine, Izzy Stradlin the former guitarist for the legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses has confirmed today that he will not be a part of the reunion tour that the group planned for this year.

The news was revealed by an email from the former band member which was sent to Rolling Stone Magazine that claimed “At this point in time, I will not be playing at any of the April 2016 GNR shows,”, the guitarist continues on “I’ve also not been in the studio recording or writing with any of the others recently. There is so much speculation, but so very little info, [that] I thought I should reach out.” referring to the reported news, from the band’s publicist Arlett Vereecke, that lead guitarist Slash was said to be working on new music for Guns N’ Roses. Vereecke reported to Classic Rock Magazine “I know they’re doing some recording. They’re definitely doing something there in the studio. Axl hasn’t been there, but Slash is definitely in there and it’s not for anyone else.” and other sources like Ex-band manager Alan Niven also suggested that Izzy and bassist Duff McKagan have been working side by side as well, stating “Duff and Izzy were in the studio before Christmas doing stuff. At a casual glance I think they’ve got at least a couple of tracks down.”.

Stradlin came forward today to put to rest all these claims and let fans know the truth, confirming he has not been recording and will not be performing at the upcoming reunion tour shows. There was some speculation to what was happening due to Izzy’s twitter account when he tweeted a video with a new track he seemed to have laid down.

However, promptly addressed this in a voicemail “I know there’s a lot of questions regarding my Twitter account,But it’s me. I opened the Twitter account. There was just so much speculation going on regarding my involvement and studio recording. There’s so much misinformation, so I wanted to clarify that I’m not in the studio recording with any of the Guns N’ Roses guys. At this point in time, I’m not involved in the actual shows. A lot of stuff [fans] are reading isn’t true” he concluded.

The rest of the classic line-up of the band, which will feature Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, is still scheduled to headline Coachella Festival in California this Aprils, as well as a couple of warm-up gigs and a performance in Mexico.
